New British Academy Grant for a Research Team Including Sociologists from the University of Białystok

The Faculty of Sociology combines tradition and modernity. Its history began in 1998 with the establishment of the Institute of Sociology, and in 2023 it became an independent Faculty by decision of the Rector of the University of Bialystok.

Our academics focus on key challenges of today’s world: borderlands, multiculturalism, migration, and the dynamic transformations of contemporary Polish society. We explore socio-political changes, religiousness, intercultural dialogue, and new social divisions, closely tied to the cultural richness of our region.

We offer full-time undergraduate and graduate programs in sociology. Our students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills through workshops, internships, and specializations. Graduates successfully pursue careers in research centers, media, local governments, cultural and educational institutions, NGOs, and the business sector.
