Faculty of Sociology Receives Funding to Organise the 2nd Congress of Border and Borderlands Researchers

he Faculty of Sociology has received funding under the Vectors of Science II – Conferences programme. The grant supports the organisation of the 2nd Congress of Border and Borderlands Researchers, which will take place in September 2026 in Białystok.

The project has an international scope and brings together scholars in border studies from Poland and abroad. The event continues the 1st Congress of Border and Borderlands Researchers, held in September 2024 in Wrocław and Opole under the theme “(De)Constructing Borders in Border and Borderland Studies.” The aim of the project is to integrate the Polish academic community working on border and borderland issues and to develop international research cooperation in the spirit of interdisciplinary border studies.

The languages of the event will be Polish and English, with interpretation available for selected plenary sessions.

The total amount of funding awarded is PLN 129 118,00

The proposal was prepared by Dr Karolina Radłowska and Prof. Małgorzata Bieńkowska.
